Frederick Howard Opticians are your Wirral-based local community optician. With branches in Pensby and Wallasey we focus on offering a more personal optical service – giving our patients the time that they need and the care and support they deserve. 

We set out to be the complete Community Opticians. We cater for the very young to your housebound elderly relatives.

We have twice been awarded NHS Wirral Opticians of the year.

Fred was runner up nationally in Optometrist of the year. This was awarded for his extensive work developing community Eye Care services.

In addition to our clinical duties we also support Local and National Charities We have supported Clatterbridge Cancer Charity by doing a 15,000ft Sky Dive. Raising £4000 in sponsorship.

Fred and son-in-law then rode from London to Paris, for the same charity. Again supported to another £4000 sponsorship.

Fred also organised for practice staff, Freds family and some hospital staff to run for Diabetes UK.

Fred has also completed the Great North Run for NSPCC. 
In practice we continue to support Claire House and also Macmillan.
